Volunteer And Join Our Mission Of Creating A Disability Justice Movement Within The Hmong Community
We aim to center and empower Hmong people with disabilities to lead conversations, design their own
lived experiences, and build bridges across all disability communities through sustainable, culturally
grounded approaches.
Our three main objectives are to:
1. Address and dismantle ableism in the Hmong community.
2. Amplify the voices of Hmong people with disabilities.
3. Create awareness and promote inclusion across all aspects of life for Hmong people with
disabilities.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT US
Your Contribution Helps Build Justice, Visibility, and Belonging for Hmong Disabled Voices
A welcoming space where Hmong community members and disabled leaders share their lived experiences, insights, and lessons—helping us grow together toward greater access, understanding, and collective care.
My experience with UHD has been an incredible one. I’ve always thought I was alone in the Hmong community when it comes to having a disability but now that I’ve met so many other people, I don’t feel as alone anymore.
It’s hard finding disability stuff that makes sense in Hmong. This is the first time I’ve seen something like this
UHD’s program has empowered me to hope and speak out about how I feel. I look forward to working more with more Hmong people.
I want to thank everyone that put this conference together. It’s an incredibly important issue that doesn’t get enough attention, or is intentionally ignored. I really appreciated the opportunity to attend, learn and be with the community.
